If Mahindra wants to build electric bikes in the Uk great I am in favour of any company who wants to create jobs  here in the Uk but please do not call them BSA they are only trying to cash in on the name not what BSA means for most of us.. Accept the fact that BSA as a company producing motorcycles is gone, just like a whole host of other well remembered marques RIP  BSA.

Don't know what you are missing. I don't have a modern bike in the shed (is a 1998 Enfield Bullet modern?) but in the past shiny new ones have had their place there, a TY250 for trials with the kids and my wife's Yamaha Diversion (still there but on SORN and now VMCC eligible, unlike the Enfield). I even had a Deauville for winter commuting for a while. But throughout, it was the Norton and the Star Twin that clocked up the miles.
The world moves on. I don't need something shiny new but I can sertainly appreciate them. I was quite amazed at the performance of the grandsons' Oset electric trials bikes. As far as I am concerned, 2 wheels good, 4 wheels bad (except for Classic Land Rovers of course).

I agree we need to find a more sustainable source of power. What happened to sea tide generators?
Good on Mahindra for giving it a go, and for taking it to GB and not making it cheap in India/China.
Being a speed freak I'd love to try an electric bike. My youngest bike is 32 years old and all four can exceed the speed limit. (Looks like my license is toast, another ticket arrived) Watching (not hearing) the Zero race at the IOM I think their dangerous. We all know tin top drivers don't see motor bikes so loud pipes saves lives No baffles in any of mine.

In Suffolk there is an ancient tide mill at Woodbridge. The theory is: tide fills a small harbour. Gates get closed. The tide returns via water wheels that operate grinding wheels.

Those people in white lab coats and thick glasses who proposed them forgot about two vital concerns, 1) the sea has the power to destroy just about anything in very short order, and 2) sea water is one of the most perniciously corrosive compounds on the planet.
Sort out those two considerations  and making a workable gennie using the tide would be a doddle..

I often wonder if these loonies ever look at a replay of the statements and comments they spew from their lying mouths. it really makes me angry and don't get me started on them filling their mates boots with taxpayers cash! some of it filtering back into the cons pockets in the private members club--- rant over!
