For your inheritors, I think my answer would include the phrase, "maybe with HC pistons, a manual would be better than an auto advance unit"...

The factory setting is 3/8" for RR and SR models. This equates to 34 to 36 degrees, and since both models were fitted with the 356 cam thru 1961, you're nominally there, Richard. Use your advance lever to tweak and tune.
