Gearbox gaskets

 Took a look inside the A10 gearbox, looks just fine....Are the gaskets necessary for end thrust clearance? On Triumphs I use Loctite 518 sealer and no gaskets...I built an A10 about 20 years ago and don't remember if gaskets were used onthe gearbox outer covers..Thanks

 Thanks, I read the thread....I dry assembled the box with no gaskets, seems ok ,nothing binding and  the gear selection feels OK

   But....I had a clean area for the gearbox disassembly....I'm cleaning parts and there's a 1/4 inch ball bearing,,Where did it come from? The parts manual shows no ball bearing. The only ball is in he clutch release and it's in place...

Cut in half pushrod with a ball bearing in the middle?

Perhaps...It does fit inside the mainshaft.....
