Plunger A10s in Washington
« on: 01.09. 2009 08:17 »
Sunday was the "Isle of Vashon" ride, about 1,000 bikes, even some old ones (it's supposed to be all old bikes, but reality makes it about 40% old, 60% newer). Ride was on another island here in Puget Sound, so that meant four ferries and (I counted) 18 starts for my machine...most I had to kick was three times, I think, many one or two kickers. Given my history with this bike, that's a miracle. And well appreciated!

Saw two other plunger A10s, both '51s:

My machine on the ferry back to my own home island at the end of the day:

Although there is not a lot of difference between the three, yours stands out as the best amongst them! That chrome tank is crying out for some paint and lining... Thanks for your photos and write up.

My friend John showed up on one of his Gold Stars instead of his A10...he has a '54 swing arm machine, in red, that is absolutely, completely original. Gorgeous patina.

Thanks for the kind words!

I need to get a new (proper) sidestand...this one is off of something else, and you can see it's not right. I also need to recover the seat in more accurate material...I have a new cover for it. Somewhere. We've moved four times since I bought the cover and I haven't a clue where it is.
