Hi another newbie to the forum
« on: 31.05. 2020 22:51 »
Hi all,

Good evening

Another newbie to the forum and in fact to BSA. I've been riding bikes since around the mid 70's in various guises. In fairness despite learning to ride a bike on a BSA Bantam amongst other things. I have in the main mostly ridden japanese bikes - Kawasaki's in particular. But I've always had a love of British bikes. As such, I've decided to now bite the bullet, and purchase either an A7 or A10 in hopefully the none too distant future. Looking forward to the site, gaining valuable information and hopefully contributing. And most importantly getting a BSA...

Hi Mick, welcome to the forum, a good move!

Are you after a runner or a restoration project for your return to BSA?

All the best, Simon

Welcome to the forum, hoping it will be of good help.

Was thinking, we should have a "What to know about \ look for when buying an a7\a10" topic.

Hi Simon, thanks for the welcome. I think I'd prefer a nice runner, thats also cosmetically good that I could still fettle and improve where necessary. I do like my bikes to be in good nick and well sorted.

Thats a great idea. I'm also on the ZRXOC forum and they have the very same -  frequently asked questions. This included everything from recommended tyre pressures, known issues, recommended oil, things to look for prior to purchasing etc etc. Proved to be a valuable resource and saved on people asking the inevitable similar questions.

Nice one - love my REX, but definitely want to add either a A7 or A10 to the stable.
