I have been a BSA fan since buying "the tea chests of misery", 2 M21's for £40.00 in the 1970's. My serious biking began when I bought my T160 in '78, I still have it. In 2012 I was looking for a project, I returned to my first love and settled on a rep of the 1954 Daytona winning Shooting Star rigid, which then led to the 2nd place Klamfoth swing arm replica. I was aware of the Daytona bikes having once owned a BB34A, the Daytona singles are pictured in the BMS Goldstar book. Behind all this was the thought of introducing my two lads to the joys of classics, Triples are too dear BSA pre unit twins are more plentiful autojumble availiable, I now have 4 in various stages.
I have (hopefully) enclosed a couple of pics of a home made carb gantry for a twin carb head which others may find interesting. Anyone familiar with the Trident setup will recognise this straight away, infact a few components are trident including the 27mm carbs. The stubs manifold and top operating arm are of course specially made for the twin.
The motor in the pic is infact a short rod motor using thunder engineering A65 rods, shortened barrel with flat top pistons, A7 twin carb head with A10 (iron head) valves.
