New Toy
« on: 13.08. 2009 08:25 »
Just bought another plunger A10, most definitely a basket case.

Its a bitsa in that it has a 51' engine in a 52' frame. If I happen to come across a set of 52' cases then well and good but if not, too bad. Has the A10 tank that you dont come across very often, same shape as a A7 but the Golden Flash badges. Overall seems quite good and doesnt seem to be missing anything important.

I have a B31 to finish and then will get stuck into it, hopefully in about 6 months.

You can never have enough A's...................................

Amass them quietly:

I'll 'third' that with you both! I have just got another A10 put together from my recent big box of bits find. Still enough left over to build half a bike.

Now that I have it temporarily put together I need to obtain and complete the paperwork, so bike has been pushed to the back of the shed for a few weeks.

Hi Brian
I think my 51 Gold Flash has a 52 engine in it.  I'll look tomorrow.  If shipping isn't t too expensive maybe we can do a swap.  I'll keep in touch.  Jeff

LJ,
That bike looks like a great project! I'd love to get my hands on that one, are the numbers  right for the fr. & eng.
Hopefully I can find one like that in Aus.

According to the original green registration book they are. But it just goes to show that there are still bikes and bits out there and ripe for restoration! Good Luck hope you find one too!

Well a bit of an update on this one.

Still a long way to go but its getting there. Not original as most will see, its a mix of 51' and 52' plus a few bits off different models but hopefully it will still look sort of right. It was going to have a chrome tank but I've just been retrenched from work so it looks like it will get a painted tank for now.

Nothing special engine wise, 7.25-1 pistons with a 356 cam and 376 monobloc. 12v electrics. Held together totally with stainless bolts etc.

Now that I will have plenty of time I should have it finished in a few months.

There looks to be a patten to this selling page and I can't quite work out what it is.

There were 37 bids.
08013 people viewing the page!
Something attractive about the layout of added information that the seller puts.
'Rachel' seems like a very nice girl/woman, are guys getting worked up here?
The registration does not seem all that attractive and would seem a bit of a gamble to obtain it if there are no documents.
The background in the first photo suggest a poly-tunnel so could be at a garden centre or nursery of some sort, not that this would make any difference here regarding the bike. Seems I'm digging around for answers to germinate ideas. lol

Can anyone else throw light on to this auction?

Some inconsistency in the Q/A - states he/she has not sold on Ebay before but has 100% Feedback for 138 items, could be borrowing a relatives feedback of course
All the best - Bill
1961 Flash - stock, reliable, steady, fantastic for shopping
1959 Rocket Gold Flash - blinged and tarted up  would have seizure if taken to  Tesco
