Best thing about Fosters was the ad's. They were good when Paul Hogan did them, not so good now. Brewed in Manchester, brand is now owned by Heineken. Always tastes better when someone else is buying.
Don't confuse refreshment with enjoyment. Sometimes you need refreshing, and a nice ice cool swillie hits the spot. Other times a relaxing sip is called for....that's when a traditional regional beer adds enjoyment to life's tapestry.
I like to try local brews. Yukon Gold (drunk in Whitehorse, can't get more local) gets my vote. Surprisingly Dorada, on the Canary Islands, a great refresher.
Nice to see a pint of Proper Job on the go. This is from the St Austell Brewery, Cornwall, a regional brewer with national distribution, but still an independent family owned concern. Can't tell from the pic if that was the Kiwi's first glug, or the dregs, having given up on the possibly curious taste. Its an IPA style, but has a slightly grapefruity hint, so a great refresher on a hot day. May have come as a bit of a surprise, tastewise. The name comes from the local expression for any task that will be completed to perfection, or to describe something well finished or working as intended.
Swarfy.
