Hi All
A local chap is rebuilding a 1948 B34, this bike has the odd 4 speed gearbox that was only fitted from 46-48 on  B series bikes
The gearbox mainshaft  taper is smaller than the usual A and B series 6 spring hub
The taper is the same as the C series up to 1953
The hub needed 65-3930 is similar to the C series 29-3833 but has an extension a the rear where the oil scroll is pressed onto
A "C" hub might work if a scrolled sleeve was made and pressed onto the shaft inside the hub
Attached are photos of both type hubs
If anyone has a hub available to buy it would be great as all the usual sources have not been able to help

According to my BMS book, for '48 the sleeve no is as you say, 65-3930 for B31/32  & B33/34  but 65-3913 for the C10 and C11. I'll have a look.

Hi RD,
Ok, I am always open to correction, but in my defense I took the C11 part number from the C10/11/12 groups info page,
https://bsac10c11c12.co.uk/smf/clutch-and-primary-transmission/clutch-front-chaincase-c10-c11/

I posted on there too looking for a sleeve and had a reply to say that there's a NOS 29-3833 on fleabay that has an old label on it *????* *????*

29 3833 is listed in the 1949-53 C parts book for C10 and C11.

The contemporary single year multi model books 1947 -1951/52 which are available on this forum under spares/parts books give the C10/11 part as 65 3913.

The 1949-53 revised format single model book for C10/C11 gives the part as 29 3833.

None of which helps of course.

Hi Julian,
Thanks for the update,
As long as the taper is correct I think I can make the 250 one work *????*

Wasn't trying to correct you, John, just wondered if different part nos might help. BTW, looked this morning and don't see one in my stuff. Mind, finding anything is a challenge. Always seem to be too busy to sort things into order, but then do you put all pistons in one place, all gearbox stuff in another - or sort according to model?

Hi RD,
I appreciate your efforts on my behalf  *smile*
I am guilty of being really disorganised, I seem to keep the "filing" system in my head  *eek*
every so often when finally nothing can be found I have to spend a day or so picking up stuff and putting them back to where they belong
Yesterday was one of those days but the blank sprocket I was going to work on still has not appeared

I have large plastic boxes like the ones you see autojumblers use and stack parts in those with a rough description on a sticky label facing out, hoping to remember to restack them correctly after usually going to the bottom of a stack to look for something *problem* (ya I know put labels on both ends  *ex* *ex*)
My workbenches seem to get covered in all sorts of bits and finding a clean space is always a problem
I do however keep the machine tools relatively clean

I think part of the problem is that when I worked I mostly had a "mate" along side who would clean and tidy stuff away when I finished whatever I was doing at the end of the day
