Interesting M/C Short Films
« on: 29.07. 2019 19:21 »
Mmmm...Just thought I would share this with our wise, brave and fearless members.  The other night flipping through channels, on Freeview Channel 81 called Talking Pictures, I caught the end of a short black and white 1955 film about riding safely.  It appeared to have several BSA's.  Desperately I tried to get pen and paper to note registration numbers to see if these machines were still around and possibly owned by a member of this great cosmos website.  Unfortunately, I only got one as the film ended: PLY121.  I went through the TV Guide to see if will be repeated, but, no joy.  The film is called Rode Safely (not ride), doing a search on the web and to my delight, revealed it is there to view.

On the same channel, this Wednesday 31st July at 2020 hours, there is another short 1970 motorcycling film.

I apologise if this is already known to members.
All the best to all.....

Interesting background to the Talking Pictures Channel on good old Wikipedia. Its not part of some multinational media outfit...yet, and appears to be a depository for lots of early Ministry of Information Films, Promotional Films as well as more main stream B/W films from yesteryear.
