Well, I am really showing my age now. The first LP I ever bought aged 14 in 1958, and I've still got it.

Purchased mine in my youth and still have it.

The first LP that I bought was The Eddie Cochran Memorial Album.

No Roy, I was born in 1950 so I remember Buddy Holly but my best musical years were my teenage years, the 60's. Beatles, Rolling Stones etc etc. then later Pink Floyd.

1943 - beat you by 1
So steady improvement from Billy Cotton, Chas McDevitt, Dickie Valentine, Ronnie Carol then something of interest Bill Haley, Little Richard, The Platters, Cliff and the shadows and onwards and mostly upwards.
All bought at Howards store with strange token things via a process involving little wooden containers whizzing along the store between strings and played on a wind-up gramophone through an electric pick up arm that dad grafted on and wired up to the wireless (Radio Rentals)
Blue tooth - ha
All the best - Bill
1961 Flash - stock, reliable, steady, fantastic for shopping
1959 Rocket Gold Flash - blinged and tarted up  would have seizure if taken to  Tesco

A lot of history there lads,.
BRILLIANT.    *smile*

Buddy Holly died (3 Feb) a few minutes after my 15th birthday (2 Feb).  So sad.

The BIG O is on next.
Another great performer (Lefty Wilbury)

Roy, does your copy have the typo crediting Holly's birthplace as Bullock Texas? Also a  nice old bike featured in the archive footage, defied gravity parked on a lawn with just a side stand. Plus the anecdote concerning the colour of the Strat Cliff Richard ordered for Hank Marvin.....the rest is history.
