Jet on Amal 376 to Golden Flash
« on: 14.06. 2019 07:41 »
Hi
Has a Golden Flash from 1955 with 357 cam, open silencer and no airfilter.
Which sizes of main jet, needle jet and pilot jet should be appropriate on a Amal 376?

Regards
Robert

Hi GFlash

What on earth are you trying to do? The bike is a Gold Flash and not an RGS, So put it back to standard and enjoy it for what it is.

250 main jet, 25 pilot, 3 1/2 slide needle position 3. 106 needle jet. After years of experience of 357 cams, in the real world I reckon you are better with a 356. Not that I am going to strip mine down to replace the cam. But mine does have an alloy head and 389 carb to complete the RGS pretense.
Straight through pipes? Hmm, not sure that will do the image with the general public much good.

Thanks for the reply. the engine was configured so when I bought it. the inserts in the mufflers are drilled.
I have no plans to change the camshaft.
