Crowded workshop

my dad on the grinder , he just had paths like you find in woods to and from different parts of the workshop-- I tried building the crank up in there and gave up , moving on to another big place where my  brother had built his kiln .cleaned up a bench that had a big vice and got it done in comfort *smile* that's all for now folks I will have to try and find the reverse head beezer amongst too many piccies

Bergs, the real fire in yours cosy backwoods cabin in Chesterfield proves it was not a doll's house fireplace with a 5mm Masonry Drill to show the scale.  I enjoyed the other pictures, and my shed is a bit like your dad's, a bit full.

For entertainment in a quiet moment YouTube has some videos of guys melting alloy wheels in backyard homespun furnaces powered by old engine oil. Truly awesome what they do with no thought of safety. With apologies to our US members I also find the "Redneck" antics entertaining but also tragic proof of Darwin's Theories. Big circular saws, lethal bandsaws, killer log splitters, wood fired hot tubs, jacuzzi on a pick up...they are all there. Search for redneck whatever. They've done it.

the bergs lathe that brother did many modifications on including scraping top and cross slide , new mandrel,- bushes and bearing cap because at some time in its life it had a nasty accident and got smashed *bash*, all pully work , extension in lead screw to take all screw cutting gears, toggle reverse thingy and gears, new cross and top slide screws- clever shit . pity I haven't a clue how to use its full potential-- *problem* *dunno        forgot saddle used to go towards tail stock when you wound it anti-clock---so he did a little gear work and made it NORMAL- maybe that was why someone smashed the head stock bearing cap--- the now square block
