My personal experience with the STD T needle roller layshaft box is that the end float is not too critical.

If you are using a thick inner cover gasket, as supplied by some sellers, you could change it to a thinner paper one.

julianS I make my own but have only 15 thouish stuff ,the one in an old gasket set is about 12 so not much to shout about, don't like the thin paper ones- never have , thanks for info on end float though it should end up a tad below 10 thou and that will do for me. it has been pointed out it is the A65s that are more fussy on end float cheers.

Hi Berger,
I found the original high speed RRT2 gear
Earlir today, it has the same lettering as you quoted, but it has the oil hole , I can see it through the drilling in the gear

haha john you are putting corn down now , decisions to be made I might make a puller up and if she wants to play take it out . first sign of resistance and its staying put, the drive side one was sweet to put in the other one was fighting a bit with really hot case and a bit of lead I put in the hole. I shall be finding out this week *eek*

Do you mean the cam plate plunger housing thread? It's 5/8 x 20 I had to buy a tap only a few months ago.
