I had bad experiance with he SRM ones. They are the double wight than originals. This will increase the wear from cam, tappets, and Rockerbox gaskets. I convert all engines to alloy pushrods from VW Beetle, so I had left 4 or 5 sets, I gues they are all the same length iron or alloy head.

 I followed the advice of Klaus here.

 I ordered a "cut to fit" VW beatle stroker engine  push rod set. I ruined one getting the hang of it, but after that I have a complete set and 3 extras.

 These have real ends with holes and the tubes are hollow, just how it all should be.

 I had ordered a set of alloy pushrods. I did not feel comfortable using those in my motor. Now I have something I dont even think twice about.

Klaus...who knew that a cheeky bit of Vorsprung Durch Technik could be put to such good use. I seem to remember a VW bug valve guide removal tool was put to use on this A10 yrs ago
Lee......how do you best cut the rods.
I’m not a machinist and brutal with a hacksaw 😳
If the rods are alloy would a pipe cutter work?
How is the end/tip secured to rod ?

Hi Scotty

the best way to cut them is with a cuttingtool in a lathe.  The pusrods are hollow, and  have steel caps like a mushrom at the ends. This steelends getting off is hard work and not done with a punch. A grinder is recomented.
These push rods are race tested with no problems, you dont need hight strength ones.

What are the exact lengths of the rods you are after please? I have a steel set in one of my boxes somewhere.

I think it will be used on a A7SS bitsa  project I have on the horizon

Sav 8.5 inch and 9.5 inch are the lengths and thanks for your consideration but I’ve ordered a SRM set as I was placing an order with them today for assorted bits
