What throttle twist and cable is needed?
« on: 27.03. 2019 00:38 »
What type of throttle twist and cable was fitted to a 62 A10 SR? Believe they had a Amal type 16 giving the more bulky appearance than the 366. Can’t find a decent type 16, Amal no longer produce them, have found Doherty but these have plastic tubes and the ones from Taiwan have hex/Allen key screws.
Don’t even want to consider ones from India.

The cables I’m finding are for 366 type throttle and 376 carb. The bike is fitted with a 389 and has the choke/air lever under seat on frame if that matters.
There seems to be so many types and adding more confusion.

The bike is fitted with UK style handlebars and not the high rise US style.

Thanks in advance for any help!

 In the meantime if you haven't already been there, have a squiz at the D-Fly page, the diagrams are helpful but sometimes wrong picture as I noted when looking for levers;

Started building in about 1977/8 a on average '52 A10 -built from bits 'n pieces never resto intended -maybe 'personalised'
Have a '74 850T Moto Guzzi since '92-best thing I ever bought doesn't need a kickstart 'cos it bump starts sooooooooo(mostly) easy

Look at Norton Andover, they do a beauty. Not cheap but there was a thread on these a few months ago. Several of us on here bought one. Quality.
