GB,

As a curious bystander, I didn't see any "Townsville" in the UK. There is a Townsville City in Australia. Oddly, when I first saw the image I thought it looked familiar as being along the train ride from one of the airports into London. Sure enough, looking up "Three Bridges," as appears in the sign along the stream, that village is along the tracks near Gatwick. So, please tell us the relevance of your question and if I am somewhere on the right "track."

Not sure what the original post is about? But if referring to Townsville - Queensland, Australia. They are in the midst of a huge flood/Natural Disaster zone.
Thoughts go out to any forum members up that way, Hope you are all high and dry

Yes terryk is up there. Hope he has floaties. And Wozza has a good mate up there that's not very well.
Floods up there, fires in Tassie, hot and humid here.
Mother Nature at her best. If it was Father Nature it would be sunny and warm every day and a shower of rain at night!

By chance I had seen a report of Townsville on a UK internet newsfeed. It had not made the general news here when GB posted yesterday. My understanding is that spillways have been opened to save the dam, but a tremendous cost to people and property in the local area.
Best wishes to all in trouble.

Hard choice for authority to make under such circumstances.

OK, to clarify. The link I posted must have been left in the clipboard instead of the link I intended to post about Townsville Australia. Sorry for the confusion.

The incorrect link is a Google Streetview of a location close to where I grew up and a place I often explored as a kid. Three Bridges, (Southall) is where a road crosses a canal which crosses a railway cutting all at the same place. The canal footpath has been Streetviewed by someone carrying the camera because you cannot drive on the footpath.
