I agree with the suggestion that all drivers must try 2 wheels before getting a licence. The modern driver as no conception of the fragile link between road and tyre particularly in rain and when it comes to frost/ice, they simply can't compute that there middle
(Brake)pedal won't still stop them , they've got ABS haven't they ,well then they find out that it may help but won't stop skips ,which incidently are not "accidental " but acts of bad driving or so I was taught !
Back in the early 70's I worked for Cundles in Liverpool and on a wet or frosty morning our tea break was always enlivened by the cars sliding past there chosen turning ,the look was sheer blankness ,the "I've turned the wheel but I'm still going strait ahead " ?? caused much extremley black humour but we all rode .had all had close calls and it was like payback time . I'm a firm believer that all car drivers could kill me when I out on the BSA so am very attentive ,but at times is very tiring ! Rant over ... for now !
