You really couldn't make it up
« on: 14.12. 2018 15:22 »
I recently bought an item from a vendor in America via Ebay. The item made it safely to the UK where surprise, surprise, it went missing. Courier says it was delivered and signed for. Of course we all know different kiddies don't we? Missing items, and lying about what the actual truth is, is something UK couriers excel at. Anyhow, I contacted Ebay, and to get my money back, I had to go to the police, report it stolen, and get myself a crime number. So I did all that, and duly got my refund. So apart from the fact that I never received my purchase it all ended happily, hurrah! Now for the bizzare bit. This morning I received in the post a letter telling me that as a victim of a crime I am entitled to counseling. So that's alright then, I feel so much better now. Proof positive if any was needed, that the lunatics are indeed running the asylum.

You probably got picked by porch pirates.

 Very common here.

I sent an A65 Clutch from Essex to Guilford by Hermes Couriers on the 4th December. The customer was getting worried and rightfully so. I paid for 3 working days delivery  *sad2*. It arrived intact yesterday  *smiley4*.

Ah, but it was as having been signed for. that would point to something before the porch, I believe.

A101960, I say, take the counseling. What harm?

There was a piece on TV recently about couriers leaving deliveries in all sorts of strange places, including recycling bins. The driver only gets paid when he leaves the item. People have had their items taken away with the trash.

"... I say, take the counseling. What harm?"

-Being patronised by a too-clever-by-half twenty-something with a cheap degree* telling me what I already know from long experience and they know from reading some politically-correct book !

*(and who still can't figure out where to put the apostrophe).
