I recall Bob Newby (BNR) does a belt drive that will fit the semi unit motor, doesnt need the adjuster and will be far quieter.
His clutches take a lot of abuse.

A good rider periodically checks all nuts and bolts with a spanner to see that they are tight - Instruction Manual for BSA B series, p46, para 2.
