Dear Greybeard and Trevinoz well it could be a plunger base, I'd have none to compare it to but when I use google images to look at various plungers, they have IMO a different shape, much more "V" like. I asked my upholsterer to add a little bit more "hump" at the back of this one, which we custom ccovered in Kenya ( beautiful job).
My original valanced mudguards got stolen, but this seat base does fit the bracket 42-9196 that they had.
The tyres are Dunlop classic pattern and yes everything is "too gappy" but that is not a result of the seat.... it might be a result of the pattern mudguard brackets I note to start the thread. Looking at RGS and Catalinas pix of Google Images, they are darned "gappy" too.
If anyone can comment on this or provide a under-guard to tire measurement, ratek around the rear of the seat or where the "U" brace is, when on main stand..I'd be grateful
