Hi Dipstick,
Well done
Just a minor point, the kickstart cotter pin should be fitted from the back, (opposite to the way in the photo)

Edwin, looks like you're doing a great job and the A7 is a lovely smooth bike.
My only suggestion is to put that full width iron 7" front brake on a shelf and upgrade the front brake. the 8" fwh used on the 650 is slightly better or the late 60's fwh brakes had wider shoes and available with TLS in 7 or 8".
Appreciate you might like originality but the narrow shoe iron fwh is a pretty pathetic brake for a bike you intend to ride on modern roads.
Sorry I don't mean to undermine your efforts, I just like to be able to stop if needed.
Tim

I'm very happy with that brake on my bike.

If you were more local I have a box of those single leading 8" full width hubs spare  *roll* but probably not cost effective to ship some.
I went a bit overboard and retrofitted a spare correct brake plate to disguise my use of a later hub. you could do this with a 7" TLS brake off a B44SS or triumph daytona, which would give you something not looking out of place to the average joe.
But it gave me  the best possible brake setup that looked period. Yes the flange is a giveaway for those true purists but it allows the wider shoes.
Keep us posted, it'll be a real sweetie I'm sure
this bike had had the borani alloy rims fitted in the early seventies so I kept them as part of its history

From my experience, the 7" s/s was pretty poor, the 8" f/w worse and the 8" s/s the best of the bunch of sls brakes. Originality is one thing and OK for bikes that are shown and not ridden, but with useless brakes the originality won't last when it's scratched and bent because you couldn't stop in time.
