Wanted - Friction Spring for Amal Twistgrip
« on: 10.07. 2018 13:36 »
Can anyone help please - I'm after the friction spring for an Amal twistgrip.  My MOT tester made me remove mine (or no certificate) and now I've lost it.  As I no longer need an MOT I want to re-instate it for my safety (on the motorway doing 70, take right hand off the bars to indicate an overtaking move to the next lane and suddenly I'm doing 35)

There's one advertised on ebay but I won't pay £20 postage (link https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Amal-Twist-Grip-Friction-Spring-NOS-NP3699/371445115120?hash=item567bdaa8f0:g:t7MAAOSw9r1V~vZE).

Thanks!

Echo GB's staement
Just fettled the Flash and tightened the twistgrip to just stay where I put it.
Come to think about it how come cruise control is allowed in the MOT then

Had the same problem with a young MOT tester. He said the engine should tick over after a accident ?? Noted to self, change MOT station following year.

Yes, the friction in the twistgrip is BSA's cruise control!
