But the current pushrods were OK for some years.

Well in that case it must be something that you have changed.  -  followers and cam.

GB- have you measured the 'Base Circle' ('A' in Roy's diagram)of your old cam? If that's a differerent size might make a difference- although if smaller would have the adjusters further in...(?-maybe one of my dyslexic moments)

dutch,
I have the previous, reground camshaft, and the one that the bike had in it when it came to me in 1973. I'll measure them when I've tidied the kitchen and loaded the dishwasher. Back later.

Ok, the camshaft that came with the bike has 0.94(ish)" across the base circle. The reconditioned/reground shaft is 0.9" so I assume they took 40 thou off. They are both 67-334 cams

I have just come round from a nap, but shouldn't that be 20 thou ?.

You now want to know what the new cam measures, if any one has one.

Also the length of your original followers and the RSM ones.

G'day GB.
Where did the new (current) cam come from.
Very unlikely, but not impossible, for the in and ex to have different base circles.
Cheers

just adding to the confusion!

The first was 0.940", the second was 0.900". Surely, (don't call me Shirley!) that makes a difference of 0.040", (40 thou)

I don't wish to bother Andrew at the moment; he's taking things easy at the mo.
