1955 Shooting star
« on: 16.05. 2018 06:19 »
Can someone confirm the part number for a dual seat on the 1955 Shooting Star is 42-9072.
I have seen this seat with a white piping & also a black piping. Which is correct? Many thanks

G'day chotus52.
My books say that part # for dual seats all s/a models 54 to 59, 42-9230 is 60-61. I don't have list for 62-63.
Can't help with the piping.

Hi chotus52,

I agree with you on the part no : 42-9072

I've looked at period brochures of A7 Shooting Stars and the seats for 1955 did not show any piping. I have since discussed with RK Leighton ( and he has confirmed that this is correct.

In case you're not aware, Leighton's are over in the UK and have been covering seats for many years.

Black with no piping is correct.
