I use the thread to pull the guides from the case.
I guess that is the reason they are there.

Its a basket case A7 from 1948 im trying to put together for a friend. But i cannot find much info on this engine,

That fact is.visible in the mobile version,.but very subtle. You have to.look for it, which I obviously didn't. Thanks.

Puller threads to remove guide block. The center double guide block is clamped between the cases but the outer ones are pressed in place. Unlike the A10- based engine , the early long strokes have separate guide blocks .
