Introducing Myself
« on: 17.02. 2018 10:01 »
Hi,

Just a short note by way of an introduction to your Forum.

I live in Sawbridgeworth, Herts, England.

I run a 1941 WD BSA M20 (reasonably standard, but with a slack wire advance mag) and a Triumph Pre-Unit bitsa (early duplex swinging arm frame, T110 cases with a unit crank, 9 stud head).

My current project is my 1961 swinging arm A10, which I have had since I was 18. It has been standing in my barn for in excess of 25 years now and about time I got it running. It has a Norton Roadholder front end with a Norton Lockheed caliper, disc and master cylinder, so not standard.

My aim is to get another bike going for rallies. The M20 can be a bit slow for long distances, but always gets me there and back. The Triumph is a Cafe Racer and goes like a train. However, it is very uncomfortable at my age (55 years old) and no good for luggage (just back from The Dragon Rally, all luggage and tent in my mates outfit). The Triumph needs a bit of work on the crank (worn rotor keyway and worn splines), so I need another bike that will hold reasonable speeds, say 70 mph for reasonable distances (300 miles in a day).

Hence back to the A10.

I hope that I have posted this in the correct place!

Regards

Pat

Yep I saw it, but sorry it doesn't belong in this topic, and get rid of photobucket fullstop, because I won't look at it, because for #1 it depletes my download, and #2 it's time is limited and not generally happy on here Sorry Pat

get rid of photobucket fullstop,

Please upload pics to the forum.

Am often on a slow internet connection, so apart from the advertisement garbage etc, photobucket (with it's dozen+ spying and tracking sites that load in the background, see attachment) and many other hosting sites are a major pain, slow, bloated, annoying.

Another thing, over time many rearrange their picture hosting (or move host alltogether), then links in forums go dead = loss of important\interesting content.

Generally about external hosting see https://www.a7a10.net/forum/index.php?topic=2545.0
...but at least you did not use [img] code :O)

Welcome to a great forum. I've only been on here very short time but already feel part of a global family.
Cheers. Chris.

Hi Cyclobutch

I haven't been to Rye House since my kids were little. They loved it!
