Not sure if the world needs another one, but here's a new year's project of bsa info:

bsa.viz.nz/
EDIT - THE SITE IS NOW http://bsa-info.nz/

the goal is a single place where I can find the info I want, rather than wading through tons of old files on my PC and searching the net over and over. its somewhat inspired by the jampot site - they've got everything.

there's nothing original here, its all been gathered across the interweb. but my fear is one day a site may disappear and stuff could be lost. hence at least another copy.

one point of difference may be the files are hosted elsewhere so the amount of server space used is small, and the amount of files than can be hosted is large. Tho with the external hosting there's a small time delay in the download. I have more files I'll add one day (tho the task is quite boring) and if you have stuff you'd like to add complete the contacts form on the site. I want to get the descriptions accurate as that helps finding stuff. almost all are old scans and i tried to OCR some but the quality is too poor, so currently not searchable.

true. the tricky bit was how to automate listing the remote files using Oauth credentials and then keep notes on them on the hosting server. still, now thats done, new pdf files can be added by saving them to the right google drive folder and then clicking the 'update' button in the backend. done. notes and descriptions can be edited front end.

G'day Mike.
Sluggo was doing similar here https://www.a7a10.net/forum/index.php?topic=12471.0
The more info out there the better. If any of our members (many I know) have other BSA's can now find info on your site. Well done.

a bit of an update on this bsa info site: DECEMBER 2019 EDIT SITE IS NOW:http://bsa-info.nz/
someone sent me access to a few hundred BSA factory bulletins and US east coast /west coast dealer info sheets.  *smile* it just shows that bsa enthusiasts are awesome.

so i've reorganized the website, given it a visual makeover and put all those files online. so you can now browse and download any that you like.
the next problems is there is such a lot of info that its hard to find what you want, so over christmas i'll work on a search function and i'll also move the site to a different name (drop the 'viz'). I'll post again once this is done.

if you have any bsa info to share like this or if you see any disasters on the site let me know

enjoy!

G'day Mike.
Thanks for that. I bookmarked that page a fair time ago. Great to re-visit. More posters for the shed!

another bsa-info site update:
  • The site has moved to http://bsa-info.nz/
  • The old 'viz' url will redirect to the new one until about march 2020 then viz will die
  • Thanks to our anonymous bsa enthusiast, there are even more files uploaded (total almost 800)
  • There is a first attempt at a search page which searches file names. it needs a bit more work
  • There is a link on the front page to the a7a10 forum.
if you had viz bookmarked, you may want to change it to the new site. I've yet to do anything about getting it attached to google etc so it will be hard to search for currently.
