Hi, found a before photo, had to do a resize to get it on, (can't admin increase the file size by a little bit ?)
Cheers.

adm edit: a (late) reply to filesize question, .png = large file size for small pixel size.
Use .jpg for pictures.

Amazing bike and restoration . Looks like yours is # 101 and therefore the first. Any idea how many were made in total ? Just curious , the chance is probably 0% that I will ever own one.

Hi SFGSguy, 4 rigid frame A7 bikes were built to contest the Daytona 200 in 1954 #101 to #104.
All 4 came home in the top 20, Bobby Hill 1st, Al Gunter 4th, Kenny Eggers 5th and Gene Thiessen 17th.
Finding the parts for your superflash will be challenging enough, let alone finding one of these and then the parts.

Cheers Thomas

Oh by the way started it 2 weeks ago and it sounds awesome, now I just got to tidy up a few bits and we're  away.

Also the 1954 Daytona top 20 finishers list from Cycle magazine.

Kenny Eggers lived here in Portland, and used to attend the Old timers banquets put on by the usual suspects,
(Lydian Licenzsi , Cliff "Sandy Bandit" Mahjors, Roy Burke and a few others) Many used to run shops, IE: Allied motors, Cycle hub etc.
There is a number of photos of Kenny Eggers at Portland Meadows along with some others from those races.
Dave Hansen, of Langlitz leathers has original photos of these people at PM and he has scanned many of them.,,  I will ask for a full list of what he has.

My rigid frame with the Dog Leg, we have established it was not factory modified, but very interesting how it was done and most people could not be bothered or would care to take that much time and effort to modify a rigid A10 frame.  While a very remote chance, It *IS* a small world at times and good possibility this frame has a tenuous connection to Eggers et al.  (Or at least in my fervent imagination I like to think so)

*** Edit, request sent, But here is the website for Langlitz, their customer list is a whos-who of celebrities, racing personalities, All of Portland Police motor officers and pretty much all the cool kids.  They got their start selling "Speedway Togs" to racers, and Uncle Cliff claimed he invented the leather pants they make now, Told me he and other racers thought the early style Puffy pants were too "Gay-Homosexual" and took in a pair of Levi's pants and asked for leather versions of the same thing.  I will add that the entire Langlitz family and staff strongly debate this contention.  With Cliff you never knew what was truth or fiction.

See: http://www.langlitz.com/

And here is a photo I harvested somewhere else, perhaps Myles Raymonds site on Kenny,,,

Hi all, the bike is done for now, a few small bits to tidy up later, but for now we're off to All British Rally this weekend.
If anyone on the forum is there, pop in and say hi, and check this beast out, it looks sweet but boy has it got some bark when its fired up.
Big thanks to BritTwit for that bit of info, much appreciated, I do have Al Gunter at Willow Springs - 4th place, on the twin, 5 photos of him in June 'Cycle' mag, they must have thought he was Kenny.
And a couple photos, the second one is what all the other competitors at Willow Springs in '54' were seeing.

Well we made it to the All British Rally on the weekend, had a great time again, many people enjoyed the bike and how it loud sounds for a small pretty bike.
Had a few issues with the float bowls overflowing while its going, so I'll see to that before long. We'll try to get it to the Geelong speed trials in October.
The bike will also be at the BSA International rally in Halls Gap, Victoria, Australia, from November 9th to 15th, 2018, hope to see you all there.
Oh nearly forgot, the Daytona picked up best BSA at the rally. *smiley4*

Your bike came out incredible! Any awards are deserved.   *beer* *yeah*
More importantly you documented its history and rebirth and very helpful for collective knowledge and insights.
(At some jobs we call that "Tribal Knowledge", Not something learned in a book).
Anyone looking to build a tribute or replica as well will find this invaluable.
-------------------------
I did not mean to hijack your most excellent thread above with mention of other bikes, but merely add too the info.  But my quest for knowledge on Kenny Eggers and other period BSA race bikes took a bit of a detour.
One of my local sources is having health issues, memory problems and some of his materials I was hoping to access is not as easily accessed as I thought.
(He has a digital database of SOME materials, but the local racing stuff is not on it)
I have some other avenues to pursue but will take some time.  I wont clog up your thread anymore with it, and If I find anything else will post it seperate.
There has been another racing motor/trans that surfaced locally and associated with another racer with history.  It appears to be a factory dual carb head. I am looking into that racer and any info on that motor as well.  Other than some AMA listings of his points, have not come up with anything concrete.

In the meantime,,, Carry on.  THANK YOU!!!!   *respect*

An absolute gem Beeza. Missed Newstead this year (clash with a Trial -Vic round). Maybe Geelong Sprints.
