Banbury Run Tomorrow!

Anyone going?... UK that is.

Weather promises to be fine and is usually a great day out!

I have my red A10 all ready for an early morning start, Top box packed with brewing stuff for a cuppa, Mrs LJ will provide me with bacon sandwiches.

I'm hoping there will be some bike dealers there, need some petseal and petrol tap corks and special washers and other bits n' bobs.

No idea what to expect or where bike parking is now as I understand it has changed slightly.

Well what a fantastic day out! A nice early morning run from Peterborough to just north of Banbury covering some 84 miles. The bike ran exceptionally well although the harder fork springs I've put in for the side car makes an uncomfortable ride which I can live with, for now, but does seem to improve handling. There were a lot of people there and a lot of bikes too, I did not look around in the bike park as it was a fair walk away, but some of the few classic bikes that had parked up near the autojumble were well worth a look at. I simply fell in love with an old 1929 Triumph and was drooling all over the place!

I took some pics of A seris bikes and could have taken a whole lot more but, y'know how it is... Got some urgently needed parts, my petseal and tap washers and a brake plate! So I'm another step towards fitting girder forks to my early A7 Star Twin.

I went to the Banbury run for the first time this year.  It was also the first long run on the A7.  Only a few minor problems, the gear lever fell off and was lost forever and the bolt fell out of the rear brake torque arm!  So couldn't change down or use the back brake.  Good job my mate spotted the torque arm bolt or it could have been interesting.  Good job there was an autojumble too!
