Probably best to get the proper shoes - I think the full width shoes are a bit wider at the pivot and you also need to consider the width and thickness of the actuating cam.

The proper ones do come up on ebay regularly - bought a full width brake plate with levers and usable shoes/linings just last week. I was the only bidder.

Dear bly##drivers, according to the seller saxo, these are A10/A65 floating type and so would be what you want. I think he is also selling the rears 7".. all I can say this is one darned hard item to find, only seen elsewhere on Baxtercycle where they have Italian ones with nice stiffening rings but a different price indeed.

Dear bdy%%drivers,

I am going with these https://www.ebay.co.uk/sch/saxo474/m.html?item=232585339319&ssPageName=STRK%3AMEBIDX%3AIT&rt=nc&_trksid=p2047675.l2562

Very hard item to find. Baxters cycle has Italian ones with nice looking stiffening ribs, but I am sure the price is no where near the @22 or so of the ones above.

I’ve seen those, contacted them and sadly does not ship to US.

I have purchased some of those both 7" and 8", not fitted yet. He said that the 7" was suitable for front and NOT back wheels but I am not sure why. Although different shoes the front and rear on the draganfly's website use the same part number as do various post on here. So I purchased 2 sets of 7" to 'try'  *smile*

Sorry bldy###drivers, if I was in UK I could have posted for you. Then the cheapest I have seen is baxter cycle... google IMAGES the BSA part number and it should show the Baxter items, at least they are half the price of the Klempf, if $100 a shoe is correct. And I like the stiffening ribs.

I was more than willing to purchase them from Klempf, but they were of no help and didn’t know the correct shoes even though I included part numbers.

Are these the correct ones?
How’s the stopping power compared to the original?

These are the correct ones, if they are true to the part number in the BSA service bulletin someone else posted you.

By all accounts they are an improvement, though give faster wear. This will also depend on your lining.

The 8" half width brake as fitted to BSAs both unit and twin was by all accounts better. Otherwise the gentleman who has shown how to mod a TLS set-up by shaving your brake plate support castings is another way to go. If set up correct, the TLS is quite good.

Cars in those days all had drum brakes and not very good ones. Nowadays every one has ABS and can stop in 15 feet at 30 mph, so you just have to give a wide margin of error when riding.

Try getting a larger diameter fulcrum pin manufactured. CPC Engineering, a local company down here, can make one and many other BSA bits.
