Think back to when you were young and having a bike was an absolute must.

Do you know how clapped out, worn down and broken up a bike had to be in order to get left in the weeds?

The owner had to make a conscious decision that he would rather walk than spend one more minute as the owner of that bike.

Its nice to look at now, but that had to be a HUGE POS back in the day to find itself as a hedge ornament. *smile*

The twistgrip and front brake lever are comparatively recent. I would reckon it has been run as a field bike, probably by youngsters, until it stopped. There's enough there to make a rebuild worthwhile.
Until his dying day, my Dad lamented having to leave a 16H that he rode through the war in Burma on the dockside in Bombay. Not allowed to bring it home. It was probably sold off as surplus for 50 rupees.

Dutch, 1066 was a spot of bother with a Norman (william ) who ACTUALLY did have a bigger sword than the other fella (harold ) and a certain arrow didn't help either  *fight*    ,no 1966 was an altogether more important date ,that was when the english football team managed for the only time ever , to manage not to snatch defeat from the jaws of victory ,true it was an off day for them  but the fans enjoyed it !! Seems i've got to edificate you on everything historical !! *countdown* *whistle* *lol*
