Where to buy exhausts?
« on: 21.07. 2017 13:23 »
Hi all,

I am in the market for new pipes and silencers for my '59 A7 - I have had Armours recommended to me, does anyone else have any recommendations?

Thanks,

Sam.
'59 A7 - No idea what I'm doing with it.

Conversely - I will never buy from Armours ever again.

Exhausts can be difficult.

I bought an Armour A10 stainless silencer earlier this year which was fine but a few years ago bought pipes which were very poor.

All I can say is that you were lucky then, that was not my experience. I won't go into details, suffice to say that I bought another set of pipes from Cake Street Classics which did fit. Read also the experiences of others by looking through through previous postings about exhaust pipes in the frame section and you will learn a lot.

I bought A10 siamesed pipes and muffler from Feked and am happy with them.  *smile*
Bought Long Stroke standard pipes from Modak in Melbourne so I could take them back if they were wrong, happy with them too.  *smile*

Mmmm..a few years past I bought two systems from Armours, one for a B31, the other a siamese for the RGS, the fit was terrible and I had verbal abuse saying it was my fault!!  Never again.....

I too once had a rubbish exhaust from Armours and a bad attitude when I complained. However, that was a long time ago and since them I have had several exhausts and silencers from them and all have been good quality and a good fit. Luck, or perhaps their standards have improved.

As long as we are on the subject of exhaust systems,

Does anyone over there make a stainless set for dual exhausts on swingarm bikes?

I have not been able to find anyone here willing to do it yet.

 Hi Bill,

All I saw was Siamese pipes in stainless, no dual exhaust...

 Am I missing a page?

Hi Lee.
They offer all types, single pipes are shown on the next page
Chrome and s/steel options, I have s/steel and they buff up great.
Yesterday a noticed a scratch on the kick start silencer and quick work with 1000 grade wet and dry and some solvo and it's back like new.

I've bought from these people several times and been very pleased with the quality...

They're based in the New Forest, have a nice little shop in an old riding stables and I believe most of their pipes/silencers are made locally...both pics are of their silencers but pipes are home made....

I was told to grind my exhaust ports out to make them fit. Ditto.
