Newbie
« on: 16.06. 2017 08:40 »
Hi everybody, I'm new to this forum. Just bought myself an A10 of 1961 vintage, it has an A7 iron head engine fitted. It's all running and on the road but I need to work on a few things before I take it out. Clutch drags, brakes aren't great, plus numerous other things. As I work though it I could be asking many questions, some may be stupid! Look forward to speaking to you all.

Hiya TomL- apart from me you're in good hands *smile*

Clutch drags, brakes aren't great,

Clutch drags; shouldn't be too much of an issue, but maybe first thing is (unless you know the history) at least check, but maybe dump all the oils, and replace with known specs- especially chaincase (clutch case) plenty of threads on that if you like to read *eek*

brakes aren't great; ---get used to it, but if they tell you they're on it's a good start

Hi, thanks for the advice, duTch, gonna pull clutch apart over the weekend, should I put atf in it? Brakes work but for piece of mind I'll make sure they're as good as they can be. I'll have to put pics on when I'm on iPad, difficult to navigate on my phone! Cheers, Tom

Welcome  *smile* Clutch drag is most likely the pressure not lifting evenly, but might also be notched baskets. Either way, ask away! ( The solution is usually cheap)
