Hello there,

Its been a long time since I've been in London.
I'm not sure which bike shops are still in the town.
You will probably be wanting check out:
The Ace Cafe    http://www.ace-cafe-london.com/
London Motorcycle Museum    http://www.london-motorcycle-museum.org/

Its a big city, lots going on but you need to know where to look.
Cheers,
Iain

Thanks for the bike shops, Iain.

I´ve been in london last year but only for a day and a half. I walk all the city to know the basic touristic places but
was very fast. The only bike shop I was going is the Triumph Store, and i didn´t like so much, I thought i was bigger, i think.

DT,

Ace Cafe is very interesting, but it is a restaurant that sells T-shirts and such and is the historic center of a lot o motorcycle events (like the dawn of cafe racing). Check out their website and look for a motorcycle event that interests you. If it were I on your schedule, I think I would be intereseted in July 17 "Rockers & Classic Bike Night" ( http://www.ace-cafe-london.com/event_view.aspx?event_id=1416&date=17/07/2009 00:00:00 ) or July 8 "Brit Bike Night with Triumph" ( http://www.ace-cafe-london.com/event_view.aspx?event_id=1408&date=08/07/2009 00:00:00 ). I can tell you that the food at Ace Cafe was much better than I expected.

The London Motorcycle Museum is only open on weekends, which may be good, becaue the Ace events are weeknights.

I don't know if their is an active physical BSA shop in London, but if you have 1/2 to 3/4 of a day, you could train down to Leigh On Sea and visit Leigh Classics (see the attached map). Be sure to call Andy in Advance to coordinate your visit ith his open hours.  http://www.leighclassics.com/

I am going to London on 16 June for three days of business, so little hope of fun.

Where will you be staying Richard? will you be any where north of London? I'm sure you'd have a few spare hours to yourself while your here.

Bike show and autojumble at Southend on sea Sat 5th July.
I've never been to it, but it sounds like it may be a big event

DT-I don't know if you're familiar with the word "autojumble", they are events where dealers sell new and second hand parts and old bikes.
England Kev's photos here:

http://www.pbase.com/uk_kev/netley_marsh_2008

can give you an idea what a really good autojumble can offer. But that was a really big one.
However, what makes a good autojumble is whether or not it has the bits you need. I remember going to a tiny one in a scout hall, there were about 12 tables, blokes selling stuff to clear out their sheds. I went with 5 mates and we all left with something we were really pleased with. So you never can tell.

Regarding a place to stay, you'd probably best check out some "backpackers" forums for recommendations of hostels etc.

Cheers,
Iain

DT,
Not sure if this is your first visit, but a word of warning!!!!
Do not drink the local beer. Its toxic. Stick to Fosters and you'll be ok.
The reason the English drink warm beer is their first fridges were made by Lucas.
cheers

But a beer thats kept in the 'dark' is always of a good colour and has a good head!  ;)

Almost Ready to go.

On July 4 I arrive in London.
I already have the address if anyone interested... kkk...

Well, I´m excited to go at the Autojumble, but I need some help.
I don´t know how can i reach there from London.
If I can go, I´ll be with my coat and my colors of SombreroS.

Regards.
