Magneto oil
« on: 25.05. 2017 09:06 »
Done a search, no success.
Magneto plate - K2F  Type A.C.   5.58
The handbook tells me to put a few drops of oil through a hole in the cam ring.
I can't see a hole anywhere.
Where do I lubricate this magneto ?
Thanks,
Roy.

(Inside the magneto ) there should be a small hole in the bottom of the camring, off the top of my head I cannot recall if it is stuffed with stuff that makes a wick, think it should tho

Hole like the photo with a bit of felt in it. There should be a strip of felt in a recess in the mag housing also.

Got it, thanks.
It was hiding under the points. Turned the engine over and there it was, no felt in the hole though.
Sorry to keep coming up with these stupid questions but new at this.
Roy.

You really need the bit of felt in the hole to use oil but you can wipe the cam with a thin film of gease instead.

The felt isn't actually in the hole in the cam ring, it's in a groove at the bottom of the cam ring housing.
At least it is on mine, a manual advance K2F.

There is a separate little plug of felt in the hole in the cam ring, to wick oil to where it's needed.

Yours is missing.
