Funny no-one mentions C&D autos. A great bunch, never had the slightest problem with items ordered from them.

Actually I did mention C&D in one of my earlier posts! I also think C&D are great, good prices too.

Yes two great blokes with lot of BSA knowledge, used them more or less all the time on  my first build, when I did the second bike the internet had arrived and I'm pretty sure they had a web page but not sure if it worked much other than give tel number, pure laziness on my part I reckon, or some fascination / addiction with browsing web sites, we can all be manipulated without knowing.
Something to be aware of
All the best - Bill
1961 Flash - stock, reliable, steady, fantastic for shopping
1959 Rocket Gold Flash - blinged and tarted up  would have seizure if taken to  Tesco

I used to order stuff by phone from C&D when they used to have the half-page ad in the monthly glossies, and none of it organised by machine or use. I still would if they were to advertise or have a web-site.

i have not been to the pub, maybe I am on my own to have had bad experience with C&D , I have mentioned this somewhere on a topic about chain adjustment. the gearbox sprocket they sold me needed throwing back in the scrap bin and they were rude and would not exchange it *angry* [maybe the attitude they had was learned from B--tam jo-n *bash*}other little things have escaped my memory---- LOST that in the PUB a few days ago------ *beer* *countdown* OO but if I hadn't had use of engineering machinery to put things into a usable manner the parts would have been of no use. O well its  *beer* tomorrow *woo* , thank you for listening *thanks*

On Draganfly I can only really say that they never ever sent me stuff that was supposedly on back order, and quite a lot of it seemed to go that way. And that was only for A10 stuff - not exactly powdered unicorn horn aphrodisiac.

They are not my go to supplier these days.

When I was restoring my bike six years ago I used DF as their website is so useful. I would go through their web pages ordering loads of luverly stuff! I did have some duff parts from them but most orders were OK. When the machine was finished I had quite a lot of parts that I had wrongly ordered, or just not used. I visited DF and met the manager/owner. No arguments about returning parts for a full refund.

When I worked on my bike I was new to the modern world of bike restoration so was not really aware of other suppliers, or their reputations. Draganfly made my life easy, and I knew that if I misordered I could get a refund.

I now live about ten miles away from C&D. I've bought a few things from them. I've found them to be very friendly. I don't know how large their stock is.

My worst experience was with Lightning Spares. I ordered a set of stainless rear wheel axle parts. I found that the spindle nipped up and galled onto the bearing inner race. I sent photos and measurements and tried to get them to accept that the spindle was about 0.5 thou" too large. They would not accept any blame! They asked me to return the spindle so that they could examine it, which I did. No more contact from them. I asked them to send MY spindle back, so that I could try to get the bearing off and ask someone local to take some metal off the diameter. I never got it back! BASTARDS!

Have a great tale about Draganfly back orders.....I was on the Brunt Ice Shelf in Antartica....and yes, nowhere is free from onternet except West Norfolk. I got an email from Draganfly that a back order gear box sprocket was now in stock and would I like one....well yas I would so stuck an order in and it was waiting for me on the door mat when I got home....bloody great service! Cheers! Oh, and it fitted to.

Hi,

I have been ordering and communicating with DF for a while on and off as I have a few bikes that they cover.
Never had anything but swift and good delivery and excellent help and communication.

I do understand how hard it is to produce parts as I did that in my last company with over 1/2-M in stock at some times. and all for the classic car industry.  VERY hard life!
Please do not under estimate the effort this entails and the strain on communications.  Keep polite if you have a problem and most companies will sort you out, Draganfly have been very helpful to me and I am sure they treat everyone the same unless they have a bad day like the rest of us mortals.  It happens.

We all upset people at some point in our lives.
I was reversing my van out of my drive this morning, small village road and no cars in sight, Half way across the road a prat in an suv came out of a side road onto mine drove up to me and then tried to drive round the back of me!  Could not wait.  Well he had to as my van is big, so he then followed me to the next village flashing his lights etc.  And then the coup de gras, he picked up my phone number from the back of the internet and phoned my company.  (Me)  Explaining that HE was FORCED to skid to a halt etc etc.  Well when he found out it was on video as the van in question has full panoramic video view at the back he changed his story (a little)   So then after telling him that I was driving and that his story was bulshit. He changed it again.  Long and the short of the story is.  Everyone has times when their customer relations are strained, He will probably not be a customer of mine any time soon and he may drive slower next time and stop being a dick.  But then again......

Good luck to DF and hope they can keep people happy most of the time.

Julian

PS.
Backorder,  I NEVER backorder anything from anyone.  Unless I really don't need it.
