Introduction
« on: 06.04. 2017 23:44 »
First post and happy to be here.  Main interest are Gold Stars (especially early) and A7/A10's (especially Daytona and dirt trackers) and U.S. spec models.
I'll now introduce my bikes.
1963 RGS Clubman (twin carb) Restored
1963 RGS Scrambler - Restored (East Coast Spec.)
1960 A10 Spitfire Scrambler - all original
1954 A10 Drag Bike - As raced (waiting rebuild)
1953 Super Flash - Project, but mostly complete
1953 Daytona Racer - Major project.
1947 Early long stroke 500 motor (YA-7 106)
And a few Gold Stars.
After 35 years of hoarding, retirement is near and now the fun begins.
I'll post pictures as soon as I figure out how to do it.

Whoa! That is really a collection. Welcome to the forum BT,  *welcome* ...and may I politely say, it's about freakin' time you got here. Folks, I believe we may have our American version of Orabanda (Richard, in Western Australia). BT, I was glad to see you are in the KC area, because it means there is some chance we can rub elbows and lift beers (first on me) some time. I'm  in the western suburbs of Chicago. Do you make it out to Davenport for the Chief Blackhawk meet? Anyway, looking forward the pictures and wisdom you may share.

Richard L.

I do indeed attend Davenport.  Been going for the last 10 years.  Look me up in my swap meet space.  AA-14&15

Oh. If you have a booth we've probably talked. Maybe I've bought something from you. Expect a beer.

Yes, welcome brother.
Now just to bring you up to speed, the main ethos of our community is: selfless generosity and sharing (innit guys?),
so, now, about those "a few Gold Stars"...  *smile*

Well, I usually don't mention them for fear of revealing my compulsive behavior.  Most of these were acquired during a 40-year period, when they were considered obsolete, broken down junk.  I have a weakness for BSA's and stray cats.
I am not a hoarder, I just buy them to keep them out of the hands of hoarders.

1949 ZB34GS Daytona racer - basket project
1950 ZB34GS Clubman - basket project
1951/52 ZB34GS Clubman - restored
1951/52 ZB34GS Custom Bobber - basket project
1953 BB34 GS Scr. plunger frame - intact but awaiting restoration
1953 BB34GS Road model swing arm - intact but awaiting restoration
1954 BB34GS Road model - intact but awaiting restoration
1955 CB34GS UK spec Clubman - in process
1955 CB34GS TT spec dirt tracker - in as raced condition
1956 BB32R Factory Dirt Tracker - soon to be finished
1956 DB34GS Scrambler in West Coast Desert trim - basket project
1957 DBD34GS Racer. Everett Brashear's 1958 Daytona entry (see avatar) - in as raced condition
1959 DBD34GS Catalina - not restored, but renovated
1960 DBD34GS Catalina - non-restored original as raced
1960 DBD34GS Cafe spec - in process
1960 DBD34GS US spec Clubman (West Coast spec) - original unrestored
1960 DBD34GS Daytona road race spec - basket project
1961 DBD34GS Catalina - restored

Making this list, brings about the realization that some of these projects will probably outlive me.
A lesson to all.  You have been warned.

Usually, the following expression would be tempered by asterisks or other workarounds, but, in this case, one must be very specific and leave no doubt as to his reaction.

HOLY SHIT!!!

Kind regards,
