Fork seal removal/fitting tool 61-3006/7
« on: 11.02. 2017 17:23 »
Hi,

I'm overhauling the forks on my '49 Star Twin. I can't find anywhere to purchase the fork seal removal tool 61-3006 (or its counterpart 61-3007).

Can anyone advise where it might be possible to get hold these (eBay has not borne fruit, and Burton Bike Bits seem to have stopped supplying them), or what can be used as alternatives, please?

Many thanks, Peter.

Lightning Spares used to sell many of the BSA service tools. Lightning Spares closed down a while back and all of their stock was purchased by Draganfly so it would be worth your while contacting them.

Many thanks. I've been on Draganfly's website. They list the item, but the cost is "free" suggesting they don't have any.

Many thanks, but I can get this tool. It's the tool for driving the seal out after I've removed the seal holder that I need  *eek*, or the dimensions to make one, or an alternative?

???
Use a big screwdriver  *eek* to drive out the seal, there are notches at 180degrees that the seal holder tool locates  into where you can access the back of the seal
You need a suitably turned to size piece of alloy to push the new seals into place, grease the outside of the new seal and holder to aid fitting
