The rust doesn't look as if it's deep (in the way that a UK barn find would) so hopefully that part of the restoration should be relatively easy but finding the missing parts will be a challenge.

I had a quick look for an A10 engine to rebuild as a winter project but they are rare and those that are available are made of very rare metals looking at the price being asked for them  *eek*

Sekar, welcome. I agree with Klaus, they only look this way once, some extremely fine steel wool and metal cleaner is all you need, for the rustier parts.

G'day Sekar, welcome.
I agree, leave the patina as is. A nice new tank might look a bit out of place, let the local kids play football with it first  *bash*.

Hi Sekar, welcome.

Nice looking bike, I agree with the others, the paint tells a story, and looks great.  I can't quite read the transfer on the front mudguard, is it a dealer sticker ?? What exhaust parts are you using, I noticed you've made some cuts/welds to shape them.  Will you finish the welds with mig or tig ??

Regards,
Tam

there is no ignition circuit as such as spark is via a magneto. if you mean an anti-theft type switch then some people put a switch somewhere (under seat, even as part of the later headlamp switches) between ground and the cutoff terminal on the maggie (ie a spst switch in parallel with the kill switch on the bars). anyone who knows about these bikes could beat that in 10 seconds (ie rip the wire out), but most people don't, so may be worthwhile
