Hello from a new lad
« on: 30.10. 2016 13:29 »
Hi just a quick Hello , new to the forum and my BSA.  When I was growing up I was always around bikes and passed my test and went from the trusty Bantam to an Ajs 350 , then a break of a few years then on to japanese bikes and so never made the Bsa twins. for the last 10 year we have been to the Manx GP and when I am there I get a wanting for a bike I never had as a youth and what with one thing and another never had the spare cash to buy one. Earlier this year I was left a sum of money by my dad and when my wife said will you be putting it in the isa or shall we do the kitchen?........neither I said interest rates are poor and kitchen is fine, I am buying a bike I always wished I had when younger . And so started quest for a 650 twin and ended up with a trip to Kent and purchase of a 1955 plunger type A10 Golden Flash seems to be original  and roadworthy( though  im ready to be told different when I manage to get some pics on ) and in black and chrome. Any way did I say quick hello ? im sure I will have lots of questions and always willing to learn.
So bye for now.

Congratulations! Welcome to the forum. I'm delighted for you. I'm sure the plunger Golden Flash will give you lots of pleasure and a little heartache occasionally, just like the wife! ....But at least it won't be asking for a new kitchen! Have fun!

Welcome to the Forum dave55, and I know you'll just love it here, my Kitchen awaits, for the time being I've managed to persuade the better half it would be better to do it after I get my new knee  ;)
once you get the Flash sorted (if it needs any that is) and get out and about you may bump into other Forum members, you'll possible recognise them if they are wearing their Tee shirt available here .
OK shameless sale talk over  *smiley4*

Seriously enjoy the Flash and the camaraderie

Dave,

Welcome to the forum.  *welcome* As always, everyone here looks forward to seeing pics of new members' bikes (really any pics of A7/10.'s in any state of repair.)

Bill, as long as we're going for shameless promotion, we might as well share the right link: http://recklesspromotions.uk/product-category/bsaforum/  Also, we should mention that no one on the forum profits from shirt sales.

Thanks for the welcome, just had a look at the T shirts and am a tad worried about buying some as it seems its compulsory to turn the shirt inside out then use some piece of equipment called an ..." iron " . asked her indoors and she says I will need to go on a course for domestic appliances  *conf*

G'day Dave, welcome.
I'm sure the wife will come around once you take her for a spin. I love my plunger and the wife calls it her bike (we took it on our honeymoon).
Cheers

Good choice! Plungers have more fun.
And never let an iron come near a bikers t-shirt! ;)

Musky the wife doesn't dislike the bike, she thinks its a think of beauty and cant keep her off it, no matter which bike we go out on she just loves being on the back. Guess that's a good thing if your other half loves bikes , when she goes she pays for the teas  *smile*

Nice bike, and certainly more fun than remodeling the kitchen! Someday (hopefully soon) mine will be running and looking nearly as good.
