Back from my local ride. Maybe 35 or 40 riders. As I suspected, very much like my own personal local rides out - a loop or two around my town (1.5 miles to the west) and some somewhat faster bits on bigger streets. I teased the orgazizer at the end, noting that he may have left two or three stop signs off the route. I was riding near the end of the pack, wishing those ahead were a little more convincing when getting cross-traffic to hold for the group. Nevertheless, we generaally rolled through most stop signs as a group. I did miss the excitement of the Chicago ride with 400-500 other bikes and route cruisers who zoom along next to the pack to stop traffic, with Chicago cops turning their heads.

As you can probably assume, being in a small ride in a Chicago suburb, my bike did get almost all the oohs and ahs. That may have been the pay off for missing out on the Chicago ride.

Hi Peeps,

So the London ride had about 500 bikes. Superb weather, warm but not silly hot. London being London there was lots of traffic, and we couldn't jump the traffic lights, so it all got a bit fragmented. BMW didn't like the stop / start and misbehaved by flickering it's oil light. Need to talk to the mechanic who built it, but my guess is the oil just getting too hot and runny.

Everyone had a great time, and on a personal note, everyone was super friendly and chilled about my being trans. Loads of nice comments and not one single dodgy look. Definitely a good day for all!

My photos were done on my ancient iPhone so they're not great. Unsurprisingly, they're all of bikes apart from the 3 attached to this post.

The green Triumph started life as a Police model (hence the horn), but the owner already had something similar so they decided to jazz it up a little.

Couldn't work out if this mightily tricked out Guzzi started life as an LM1 or not.

Either way, trick wheels, massive Delorto carbs, lots of little tweaks and a sexy paint job.

Well billy no mates here got all dressed up in shirt and tie and just did a little 25 mile loop around the local villages. A bit of a lip service to the event, but there were so many other events on today and I had commitments in the morning. Oh well at least I did it.
