389 Float weight

 Hiya'all- I've gotten square eyes looking, but does anyone know what the weight should be for a copper 389 Mono float???

 The boat is sitting a bit low in the water

If the fuel level in the bowl is ok, there is no problem.

Wait till it gets light and I'll go down the bottom shed to look. Too many nasties while dark.

 Nah float is a bubbly sinker, need to reseal it. It may also be sticking on the needle landing. Mine weighed in @ 13-14 grm.

 Made myself yet another clear cover ('dot' shown), used "Clear PVC" this time- 'Trevor- no Trev.here!' at the plastic shop checked for 'fuel' compatibility so I'll see how it goes.

 I have a plastic float, weighs in @ 8grm but it has '376/083 cast on it, so ....for a 376 , any difference??

You can fix holes in a brass float, with solder.

It will be worth keeping as a spare, then.

 Yep, I did it before but I think some bits of solder leaked through, I can hear it rattling. There's a couple of pinhole bubbles, but have a better solder iron now, so'll get onto it in the morning if I don't get suckered into working. Just be handy to know what the weight should be, I had a notion that ideally the weight should be 10grms

Sorry duTch I got stuck into the house work (the wife's away). Just ran the gauntlet through the dark (even worse in the evening, the nasties are hungry) to have a look. Bugga it's a 376 plastic one weighing 8.2gr, same as the one in your pic.

 Quick update; I did have an earlyish call to get suckered into work, but after three hours sleep, somehow babbled my way outta that 

 Pulled the float out again and split it- was a firey affair- half full of fuel... ended up with 8-10 grms overall ( scales are a bit dodgy).
 Resealed the float, still 8-10 grm overall(mainly 8g), and sits nice, but level a bit low unless I leave it and it rises to previous level.(checked for bubbles in a tub of warm water)

 Decided the needle was worn, so being Sunday I cheated a bit, and stuck it in the drill and touched up the tip with a points file & emery. I guess next choice is touch up the seat, or just don't leave the fuel turned on.
 I thought doing this would make the needle sit further up, so made a 10thou standby packer to solder onto the float/needle interface but haven't needed it yet.
