Hello from Cornwall UK...
« on: 09.02. 2016 16:37 »
Excited at being a member of this great forum. Picking up my '57' BSA Goldflash this coming weekend. After 5 years of bike absence, I cannot wait! Also my first beezer! Prior owning a few Brits, Triumph/royal Enfield etc, looking forward too it!

Paddy.

paddy,  *welcome*, you'll find this forum friendly , helpful ,full of very knowledgeable members who always willing to help, enjoy and I'll add before Richard does ,please supply some pictures when you get the bike. Whereabouts in Cornwall are you and how did you do during the recent storm ,I was down in Torbay over the weekend and it was pretty rough but I'd expect you copped it worse down there ! cheers Bob

Paddy,

Welcome to the forum. I've sometimes wondered if the existence of this forum has influenced anyone's decision to dive into A7/A10 ownership. That is, knowing there is a large friendly support group available and happy to help. As for pictures, yes, Bob beat me to the request for pictures of the bike in its just-acquied condition. So, now I must request a picture of it coming off the line at Small Heath.  *smile* ;)

Was nice to be able to pick her up in the dry, picked my day well!
I also got in the deal, a brand new tank, fully painted (think it came from India) very nice job thought.
The gold on the new tank looks right, whereas the bikes colours are a lighter shade. Prefer the new tank as looks original.
I will get the rest painted the same as new tank in time. She starts great, as had new mag rebuild, hell-of-a effort kicking her over, guess it's been a while since my last Brit!
Oil tight everywhere, Im very pleased!

Hi there and welcome, take your tank to a local auto painter (not one of the big highstreet names) and talk to him nicely , he will get you some what they now call spirit paint to match your tank colour, (they all use water based stuff these days) and appropriate thinners, if you want to do it yourself.
Or pay him to do it - good luck with it

G'day Paddy  *welcome*.
Nice bike mate, ready to ride. Get to know her for a while before any major work.
The only thing I can spot is a later rear hub.
Cheers
