WANTED - BSA A10 1954-1963 Cash Waiting
« on: 08.02. 2016 13:50 »
Looking for a BSA A10 project. Swinging arm model. Must have title. Basket cases OK. I am in Houston Texas. Private buyer. I want to do a project with my son as I believe we should all pass on our knowledge when it come to restorations. The last BSA twin  I had was when I lived in the UK - a 1949 BSA A7 Star Twin Registration OKY 545 - Where are you now ?
Thanks

Thackero,

Welcome to the forum. Thanks for the intro and I hope you will soon find the right project. I'll keep my eyes and ears open, but such project bikes aren't popping up every day. I think I'm envious that your son is intersted enough to participate. A lot of us are working out, in our heads at least, what the disposition of our bikes will be when we are not around to play with them.

Regards,

Richard L.

Houston, Texas. That's a forgotten county in Ireland.

G'day thackero.
I would have thought there'd be quite a few in the US. Looking further afield England/Australia may be an option. Bikes can be shipped from US to AU for around $525US.
This is the pick down here for $4600US   http://www.justauto.com.au/justbikes/motorcycles-for-sale/1961-BSA-650CC-10-SUPER-ROCKET-A-JBW3767427?backurl=http%3A%2F%2Fwww.justauto.com.au%2Fjustbikes%2Fsearch%3Fkeywords%3DBSA&backtext=Results

I have explored the importing option. I believe there are enough A10's here in the USA so I will be patient and wait to see what comes up.  A runner that is rough would be my choice. I know there is one out there. Show bikes with 0 miles is not what I am looking for as they are way out of my price range. Come on guys ... what have you got and what are you willing to part with ? ....................
Thanks

WANTED - BSA A10 1954-1963 - Search Over
Search is over. I bought a mildly chopped (not raked ) T100 Triumph Tiger 1948 with title and correct numbers. I plan on turning it into a fonzie triumph. It has a650 bonnie top end and runs well + starts first kick. Cost me less than 2K$ so feel pretty good deal. Thanks guys

Update. So someone made me an offer to swop his old crusty 62 BSA super road rocket for my 1948 Tiger 100. The guy turned up with  a wad of cash but no BSA so I parted with the Triumph. That was in September 2016. In March this year I finally found my Ugly A10 Spitfire 1961 with title and box of parts for a very reasonable price. Will post updates.

Nice pickup thackero.
She's got the proper scrambler footpegs. What's that bar hanging down at the back?
