Intriguing spout in 376/97 carby
« on: 30.12. 2015 09:08 »
Can any one tell me what this spout was put in the bottom of the float chamber fore?
The first pic shows it as I found it with a bolt stuck in it, it has a tube Araldited into the chamber, the bike (A10 1958)was last used in 1985 and has been standing in a shed since then.
I though it might be to drain the carby but that would be a lot of trouble just to just drain the carby!
Not that I'm worried about it, I will just remove it and block it off with some thing, I'm just intrigued.

Could be to run two carburettors from one float bowl.

Then someone blocked it, to run only one carburettor from its own float bowl.

Hi Peter,

l gues this spout was fit to check the fuel level.
Connecting a visible hose you can see outside the hight of the fuel inside the camber.

cheers Klaus

If so, it was a stupid way to do it!
