Dynamos are quite efficient, they give out a maximum of 60watts. 1 horsepower is 745.7 watts. At a guess I would say approx 1/10h, that wont slow you down too much.
Any other views?

how do you test a 6v dynamo to see if its charging off the bike connected to a battery it runs like a motor?

First you need to set up something to drive it then just follow the directions given many times before.
