pinking gold flash
« on: 04.05. 2015 20:03 »
had this before and still not fixed it, but what i'v noticed is that it seems ok up to a quater throttle then after that right up to full throttle (putting laod on) it pinks, also when you put the choke on it seems to help.
just lifted the needle up a notch, it's now 4th from top but not had chance to try it yet.
plugs are a gold colour?

G'day Derek. Try retarding the timing a tad. If you have it set for 5/16 back it off to 9/32. Or try a higher octane fuel.

are you using any lead additive Derek, if not try one (I use Castrol valve master plus) takes not a lot and adds an octane boost

Tune your mixture according to the well-publicised Amal procedure, doing everything in the correct order.

For instance, moving the needle before getting the right main jet is doing it in the wrong order.
