A10 speedo gear on lay shaft
« on: 22.03. 2015 15:30 »
Hi Guys
I am trying to remove the speedo drive from the lay shaft of a A10 gearbox. Anyone ever done this? I drilled out the pin. No dice. I heated the lay shaft. No dice. Any one ever do this successfully. Thanks Jeff

I have done several, Jeff.
I hold the gear between aluminium angles in the vice and work the shaft free.

I was looking at one (two) the other day, and decided that as the shaft is hollow, it could be possible to slide in a length of bar and drift it out? Being careful not to burr the end though
Started building in about 1977/8 a on average '52 A10 -built from bits 'n pieces never resto intended -maybe 'personalised'
Have a '74 850T Moto Guzzi since '92-best thing I ever bought doesn't need a kickstart 'cos it bump starts sooooooooo(mostly) easy
