Case split questions

Since I have my cases split is there any reason to remove grub screws(the one on top and the one by timmeing side bushing)this motor has not ran in 15 years plus I know the one has ball and spring under it but not sure what the other does..They just seem like they will be trouble to remove after being in there so long..Any advice would be much appreciated..

G'day Drew.
The one near the timing side bush definitely, and order a new ball and spring for it. That's the non return valve that is the main culprit in wet sumping. My A7 dumps the whole oil tank into the sump in just two weeks (didn't do it last rebuild) .
I can't think of the other one

Leave the other one alone, it is just a blanking plug for the oilway drilling.
The check valve inside the case should be re-seated.

I got it out tonight ball and spring look brand new the spring does not seem very strong though should I replace them even though they look so clean??

For only a few $ I would. I buy two at a time, one new one to re-seat the seat ( put in hole and give it a tap with a pin punch and hammer) then throw away and use the other new one.
